Chail is one of the most beautiful unexplored tourist destinations in the Solan district of Himachal Pradesh, India.  It is located at a height of 2,250 meters above the sea-level. Chail, Himachal Pradesh is located 44 kilometers from Shimla and 45 kilometers from Solan. Chail was built as a Summer Capital by Maharaja of Patiala Bhupinder Singh when he was exiled from Shimla by British Lord Kitchener. It is a beautiful hill station that is free from the massive crowds that throng Shimla and consequently allows the travelers to enjoy the allure and the loveliness of the place in its relative peace. 

Chail along with Shimla and Kufri is also known as the golden triangle of Himachal Pradesh.     • Cricket Ground: The Chail Cricket Ground has found a place in the Guinness Book of World Records that is located at 2,444 meters above sea level making it the highest cricket ground in the world. It has become a famous tourist attraction is the Chail which is nestled among the enormous deodar vegetation. 
    • Gurudwara Sahib Chail: The Chail Gurudwara is a Sikh temple that was established at Chail in 1907. Chail Gurudwara Saheb includes various smaller guest rooms and dormitories to allow free accommodation to the visitors. 
    • Palace Hotel: This is one of the finest iconic heritage hotels in Himachal Pradesh was built by HH Maharaja of Patiala Bhupinder Singh Ji in the year 1891 and is currently being looked after by Himachal Government. The Chail Palace is well known for its architecture. 
    • Sidh baba ka mandir: Sidh baba ka mandir was built by Maharaja Bhupinder Singh, constructed in 1891 when a saint visited in his dream and told him about the place being his place of meditation. This place is famous for meditation which is nestled on the hill between Rajgarh and Pandawa. 
    • Chail Wildlife Sanctuary: One of the most beautiful and less explored places in Himachal Pradesh. Chail Sanctuary is known for its salubrious beauty and dense forests. It makes this place ideal for Bird Watchers and Nature Lovers. It has many unique species of wildlife, birds, and flowers.

The Jubbarhatti airport of Shimla is the nearest airport to Chail, at a distance of 72 kilometers Delhi is the nearest international airport at a distance of 380 km. Delhi is well connected to most major international and domestic cities by air. Apart from this, you can also take a flight to Chandigarh airport at a distance of 113 kilometers depending on the route that is going to be traveled. These airports have flights that are connected with major Indian cities. Taxis are easily available from Jubbarhatti airport to reach Chail. 

By Train

The railway station nearest to Chail is Kalka railway station at a distance of around 81 kilometers which is connected with the major cities in India. Various trains such as Kalka Shatabdi, Kalka mail, and Himalayan Queen connect Kalka with major Indian cities. Taxis are easily available to reach Chail from the Kalka railway station.

By Road

Chail is well connected by road to most neighboring regions of Himachal Pradesh. State-owned buses connect Shimla, Narkhanda, and Rampur to Chail. During this time the natural vegetation is also in full bloom. The monsoon season in Chail continues from June till September. The alluring natural beauty of this hill station is worth visiting and admiring during the monsoon season. But during the monsoon season, Chail experiences average to heavy rainfall. Sometimes there also are risks of landslides because of heavy rainfall and thus it is not a good time to visit Chail. During the winter months, the whole place is covered in thick white snow. Sightseeing is also a common activity during this period. This is a perfect time for those wanting to spend time amid the snow. However, be prepared with good woolen and winter clothes.
